Mammoth Mountain reigns as the tallest summit of any California resort, standing tall at an elevation of 11,053 feet. Normally, the resort receives an average of around 400 inches of snow per year, but this year has been an exceptional one, exceeding everyone’s expectations. The resort has been hit by massive snowstorms week after week, inching closer to breaking the all-time record of 668 inches at the main lodge.
Despite the challenging travel conditions and the seemingly endless shoveling, skiers and snowboarders are in for a treat with the exceptional snow conditions. In fact, Mammoth Mountain has announced an extension of its ski season through July, with a potential to remain open in August.
As the snow keeps piling up in Mammoth Lakes, keeping track of road conditions is crucial. Having travel insurance can be a lifesaver in case any unexpected circumstances prevent you from enjoying your adventures in Mammoth Lakes.
