If you’re looking for the perfect fishing spot, fish in the river directly behind Yampa Avenue between 5th and 9th street. This is where diners, locals, and visitors gather on the riverside patios of Sunpies, Aurum, Sake2U, Sweet Pea and other restaurants.
Although, make sure you know what you’re doing, because in this river, especially certian times of the year where the CFS (cubic feet per second) is roaring faster than normal, the sport can get tricky. But when you’re reeling in a big win, you’ll hear the hoots and hollers from the spectators along the banks of the river which make it that much more fun.
